![]() ![]() Joining Police Scotland is a highly competitive journey, but it is worth it! You are required to give the very best account of yourself in every area to progress further. These include your weekly fitness routine, overall fitness level, effort applied, timed run and recovery period. When assessing if you have passed the fitness test we will consider several factors. This is why we do not include it in any of our literature. You should be aware that we are not looking for people who can achieve a minimum standard. You will be assessed on your overall fitness level and effort applied. You will also be expected to complete a range of bodyweight circuit style exercises at each point. You will be expected to undertake a 15 minute outdoor fitness assessment which comprises of a 100 metre run between 2 points. If you want to apply, we suggest you start your fitness preparation immediately. More people fail the fitness test compared with any other stage in the recruiting process. If you want to rejoin Police Scotland as a police officer you must be fit and healthy.Īt your fitness assessment we expect you to be at the peak of your physical fitness, having prepared in advance of your application. Candidates' eyesight will be not be assessed until the medical stage at the very end of the selection process.
